Jerry Woratzeck 9/24/35-4/1/15. Father to Laura Woratzeck Quillin and Erik Joseph Woratzeck died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 2:30am.
Known by many as "Big Jer," dad was truly larger than life. He loved to entertain a crowd. He was a successful man in many ways. He sold costume jewelry for about 35 years traveling by car through small towns in the Midwest. So much more can be said about his careers and successes, but he will be most remembered for his incredible devotion...and loving care he provided for my mother, Mary (Little Mar).
Mom died 5/7/12. He was lost without her. He was diagnosed with CHF, Colon Cancer and Esophageal Cancer less than one year ago. He moved to Charlotte, so that my husband Shawn and I could help take care of him during all of his treatments. Before moving here he lived in Jefferson City, Missouri near Erik and his wife Lori, where he and mom had moved from Phoenix to be closer to family. Unfortunately, it was too hard on mom and she passed away within a week of the move.
Dad is also survived by his 3 grandchildren, Molly Quillin, Allyson Quillin and Jake Woratzeck.
There will be a small service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetary, TBD. Dad was cremated and will be buried next to mom. Memorials may be sent to your local ASPCA.
About the ASPCA: Fighting for animals is a 24/7 job, but your commitment makes it possible for our life-saving programs to create happy endings for those innocent lives touched by cruelty. Every single day of the year, we are rescuing animals from neglect and suffering. With your support, we are able to rescue animals from dog fighting, cockfighting, and puppy mills, work to end animal homelessness and farm animal cruelty, and provide medical care for countless pets in need. Please help us save even more animals and donate to this Team ASPCA campaign today.
