Ward Family Furbaby Memorial Campaign
This June, in honor of my furbabies, Riley and Drew, who have crossed the rainbow bridge, I participated in the inaugural ASPCA Virtual 5K. At the time I signed up for this, I did so knowing that I would not be able to run, and that my walking pace was slow. I was determined to do this in memory of my special little angels, to raise awareness and funding to support the ASPCA's programs which helps find homes for abandoned and homeless animals, provides protection from animal cruelty and offers assistance for those who need financial support for medical care of their beloved pets.
As of today, 10 June, I am still unable to run, but my walking pace has increased significantly with the assistance of forearm crutches. I completed my 5K (3.1 miles) in a time of 20 minutes and 50 seconds.
If you would like to help by donating to ASPCA, your donation will help provide life-saving programs and services to millions of animals nationwide.
(If financial donations are not your thing, or you would rather keep your money local, please consider donations of food and pet supplies to your local humane society, volunteering your time or fostering furbabies waiting for a furever home.)
Thank you! <3 <3 <3
