Skye's Rock Star Pets Campaign - Twix and Aveline
Thank you for visiting my Team ASPCA fundraising page! I created this page to celebrate the rock star pets in my life. But not all animals are as fortunate to have a loving home. Your donations will help the ASPCA provide life-saving programs and services to millions of animals nationwide. The ASPCA is very important to me and I appreciate your help as we fight to give abused and homeless animals a second chance at life. Please join me in celebrating the rock star pet in my life by making a donation and help me make a positive impact in the lives of animals! Thank you!
Aveline (3 yrs old, American Shorthair w/ Tuxedo markings)
My Princess Avey came into my life at an early age for her. As my friend's cat had given birth to about five or six kittens, we were preparing to find dedicated and loving homes for them at an early stage. I always had my eyes on little Aveline, who had the softest fur I'd ever seen any kitten have (and still does to this very day). I knew she had her eye on me, too. When she was first learning to walk, I was the first person she'd always come to. She'd sit in my lap and purr and meow whenever I left her side. She liked it when I bottle fed her, groomed her fur, and sang songs to her. That was how I knew she had chosen me. She has always been (and even is to this day) very dependent on me. To this day she continues to wake me up at approximately 7:30 am to feed her and give her water from the sink (she REFUSES to drink from the water bowl) and she continues to follow my side wherever I go, always wanting my attention at every chance she can receive it. She's my little baby (my very, very spoiled baby), and there's nothing in the world I'd do to change it!
Twix (1 1/2 yrs old, American Shorthair w/ Calico markings)
Twix and I have shared a strong bond with each other for as long as I can remember. She was brought in by my parents as a little kitten they had picked up from a coworker. Twix was most favored in the house due to her beautiful markings, those that could undeniably be compared to a candy bar (hence the name, "Twix"). I, however, saw her for more than just a beautiful cat sitting on the edge of the living room couch. I adored Twix for her social and outgoing personality. It was one that I could definitely relate to, whereas Aveline was more of a quiet individual who loved to sleep in her corner. Twix would join me in every past time I'd partake in. If I were writing an essay for school, she'd sit on the edge of my desk and give me little nudges and purrs of encouragement. If I were to take a lunch break, you'd bet she was right there, on the counter, helping me make a sandwich. Twix and I share a bond I've never shared with any other animal in my life! Her social behavior has also allowed Aveline to come out of her shell a little and build closer relationships with new people.
Twix and Aveline are definitely an amazing pair of sisters. Often, you'll find them cuddling together when they're asleep and playing whenever they're awake. They also carry many sweet moments, such as when they begin to groom each other and are always there for another when they're feeling down! I consider myself blessed to have such lovable kitties. They certainly make my life interesting and I don't know where I'd be without them!
