Ruthie's Birthday Campaign

Dear family,

I feel very fortunate for everything that I have. There are many things that would be useful to me, and  the reality is that I still struggle, and still do not make a very good income even with my college degree. BUT, I truly do not have any wishes for my birthday in terms of presents. I would much rather make a small difference in the lives of animals that so desperately need help.

I am a member of the ASPCA, and I would like to "donate my birthday" to the organization. This is not a request for money or donations- it is simply an honest request that if you were thinking about buying me a gift for my birthday, or sending money, I wish that you would instead put that monetary amount towards our furry friends that need love more than I do.

As I'm sure you all know, your donation will help the ASPCA carry out it's life-saving programs and services to millions of animals across the U.S. The ASPCA is very important to me and I know it is just as important  to a number of family and friends. I appreciate your help in this modest effort to give abused and homeless animals a second chance at life. I do believe that small gifts go a long way when they are made with the right intentions, and to the right people or cause....

So, that is my 31st Birthday Wish.
