Running to Rescue Greyhounds with the ASPCA
I’m excited to announce that on November 3, 2019, I will be participating in the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon as a member of Team ASPCA, running 26.2 miles! The ASPCA is an organization I’ve supported over the years and I’m especially grateful for the work they have done within the greyhound racing community.
Every year, thousands of young and healthy Greyhound dogs are killed merely because they lack winning potential, were injured while racing or are no longer competitive. While racing has declined sharply in recent years as people have become more aware of the horrors associated with this sport, there are still 17 tracks operating in the U.S.
I’m running this race in honor of my retired racers Temper and Gill, who after nearly 14 years, passed in 2017. They will forever hold a huge piece of my heart; and I’ve been committed to supporting organizations that help end greyhound cruelty and educate others on the amazing couch potato companions that they are!
Not to mention, raising the awareness and the much needed funding to support ALL of the ASPCA's amazing programs. Your donation will help the ASPCA provide life-saving programs and services to millions of animals nationwide. The ASPCA is very important to me and I appreciate your help as we fight to give abused and homeless animals a second chance at life.
No donation is too BIG or too SMALL, so please take a moment and donate whatever amount you can afford to not only support me, but also to support the ASPCA and their endless mission to help animals.
About the ASPCA: Fighting for animals is a 24/7 job, but your commitment makes it possible for our life-saving programs to create happy endings for those innocent lives touched by cruelty. Every single day of the year, we are rescuing animals from neglect and suffering. With your support, we are able to rescue animals from cruelty, work to end animal homelessness and provide medical care for countless pets in need. Please help us save even more animals and donate to this Team ASPCA campaign today. Interested in joining the team? Learn More »
