Racing to the Rescue
As you may know, we have always been animal lovers - rescuing and adopting all of our pets since we were young. So it will come as no surprise that we are excited to run a half marathon this fall as members of Team ASPCA. Our participation will help raise awareness about animal rights/cruelty and assist in the ASPCA's fundraising efforts.
Why donate? Last summer, Mikki was able to see first-hand the ASPCA's amazing work when she volunteered to help at one of the largest cases of animal cruelty in New England. In 2016 alone the ASPCA:
- Rescued/assisted over 10,500 animals
- Spayed/neutered over 85,000 animals
- Moved over 16,000 shelter animals for better chances of adoption
And that's just a portion of their work. Your donation will help the ASPCA provide life-saving programs and services to millions of animals nationwide.
Also, in appreciation of your donations, we will be running pop-up raffles over the next few months. A huge THANK YOU to all the generous busniesses who have donated to our fundraising efforts.
Our May raffle was provided by the Red Apple Farm and Smith’s Country Cheese. The Red Apple Farm is a New England family farm that offers pick-you-own fruits, hayrides, and a country farm store. Smith's Country Cheese is a local farm stand known for their gouda, cheddar, and havarti cheeses which come from their happy cows. We have combined their donations into a local farm giveaway package.
June's raffle was a gift basket donated by FarmHouse Fresh. This Texas-based company creates skincare products made from naturally derived ingredients. They are big animal-lovers and are very involved in many animal rescue activities.
Our July raffle was compliments of Resilience Strategic, a local company focused on personal defense readiness (PDR). We took this class with owner, Tyler Moore, and had a great time while learning practical self-defense and fear management.
The raffle giveaway for the month of August is two tickets to any show at the Theatre at the Mount. For 39 years, TAM has been puttng on high-end productions for Central Mass. They have 2 shows left this year and will be releasing their 2018 schedule very soon. Everyone who has donated by August 31 will be entered to win!
Thanks for your consideration and support!
