In Memory of Paul Harris

Paul W Harris, 45, suddenly and unexpectedly passed due to a massive heart attack on Sunday, November 11, 2018 in Tallahassee, Florida. A 1991 graduate of Leon High School, Paul was known as a very friendly and hard-working individual, and he would be there for anyone in need. Everyone was drawn to him and knows he was a “take-charge” kind of guy and often found himself the manager of anywhere he chose to work. Even before he graduated high school, he was asked to run a series of retail stores until they realized he was underage. Paul also had an unwavering love of animals and was drawn to give love and rubs to everyone’s pets. A playful, loving and teasing Uncle Paul made all his nieces and nephews laugh, wild and sometimes got them into trouble. He was well known for his stealing of food right off the plate and sometimes the fork at all family gatherings and Harris Sunday night dinners. Once the kids got older and bigger, they began to steal his food in retaliation. The family was blessed with the addition of his husband and partner, David Rudenborg, his soul-mate for the past 19 years. Together, they gave a loving home to elder dogs who were able to spend their remaining years in comfort and companionship. Paul and David were often found attending sporting events locally for Florida State University hosting tail-gating for their friends and family. He enjoyed activities with his husband including almost all sporting activities, technology, motorcycles, travel and family. Paul is survived by his loving husband, David Rudenborg and their loving pets Wyatt, Charlie, Toby, Lola, and Dolly, his cherished parents Jerry and Elizabeth “Lisa”, his big brothers Ken, David and Mike, his sisters Debbie Ashlin, Laura Gottberg, and Jen Starling, and seventeen nieces and nephews. Paul also is survived by a very large extended family of in-laws and friends. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, November 14 at 3:30pm at Temple Israel, 2215 Mahan Drive in Tallahassee, Florida. In lieu of flowers, a memorial campaign has been set up with the ASPCA online at https://secure.aspca.org/team/paulharris-memorial-campaign
