Olive's Dog Days of Summer Run
I will be participating in the 2019 ASPCA Virtual 5k.
Yup. Not my idea. I was signed up to run this August. My mom thought it would be great for me to honor the place that rescued me over 11 years ago by asking you to support me in my run by donating to the ASPCA (which, uggh, includes supporting cats). I suggested snacking for the ASPCA instead. I was vetoed, so running for the ASPCA it is.
It won't be easy. I'm not as young or slim as I used to be. I'm over 12 years old and prefer a good nap, but I'm going to relive the "glory" days. I may not be able to do a 9 minute mile anymore or go for a full 5 miles, but I am going to try for a gentle paced 3.1 with short sprints for squirrel chasing.
However, I am going to need your help. Words of encouragement and belly rubs are great, but it's your contribution to the ASPCA that's really needed. I was lucky enough to be adopted, but there are still many animals in need.
Your donation will help the ASPCA provide life-saving programs and services to millions of animals nationwide.
