Support me - Give to the Bark Side
Huge thank you to Mick O'Shea's Irish Pub and my amazing friends who came out to Happy Hour Has Gone to the Dogs! We raised $640 for the animals, contributing to over $2,000 raised!
The race is this weekend and thanks to you - my amazing friends and family - we've made a huge difference for animals suffering from cruelty and neglect. Trust that your donations will be used wisely for animal protection. You have all of my gratitude - I couldn't have done it without you!
--------------------------
My dog, Leeloo, spent the first three years of her life in a puppy mill. Trapped in a tiny, filthy cage, she was bred over and over, her puppies ripped away from her to be sold for outrageous prices in pet stores. She was starved for food and attention. When she was rescued from this cruelty, she was a shell of a dog - she couldn't walk on grass, wouldn't eat, and stood frozen in terror while I sat for hours, offering cheese and love, those first few weeks.
Since the day I met her, I have been devoted to animal welfare. And now I'm running a half marathon with Team ASPCA and raising $2,100 for suffering animals like Leeloo, and other pets like my other crazy pup Maeby.
So let's do this! Please join me in saving animals by making a donation to the ASPCA right here on my page.
Animals are suffering every day. I saw that suffering every day I went to work at the Washington Animal Rescue League, every day I went to work at the Humane Society of the US. And it's suffering like this that the ASPCA and other animal welfare organizations are working tirelessly to end.
Now I'm running and raising money to help the ASPCA stop this cruelty, and I need your help.
To catch you up - this April I will be running the 2016 Star Wars Half Marathon as a member of Team ASPCA. I'm running the Dark Side Challenge, which is a 10k on Saturday followed by a half marathon on Sunday. That's 19.3 miles in one weekend to save animals. I'm busting my butt, and I'm so grateful for your donation to help me along the way. Please make a donation using the button on this page to support me and save animals.
Special bonus - if you make a donation of more than $60, I'll wear your - or your pet's - name on my race-day outfit. That's right, Fluffy will be immortalized in race photos on my sweat-drenched Star Wars running costume, in honor of your incredible commitment to me and the ASPCA.
Your donation will help the ASPCA provide life-saving programs and services to millions of animals nationwide. Here are some of the ways your donation can save lives:
$25 can help feed an abandoned dog or cat for three weeks.
$35 can help vaccinate homeless cats and dogs.
$50 can help provide a medical exam for an animal in our care.
$100 can help provide a spay/neuter surgery for a dog or cat.
When I was at WARL, I saw first-hand the impact of ASPCA's lifesaving work - when devastating tornados rendered people and their pets homeless, they operated emergency shelters to rescue, care for, and reunited pets with their people. I've seen the puppy mill raids, their work against dogfighting, the tireless pursuit to end horse slaughter, and so much more.
About the ASPCA: Fighting for animals is a 24/7 job, but your commitment makes it possible for our life-saving programs to create happy endings for those innocent lives touched by cruelty. Every single day of the year, we are rescuing animals from neglect and suffering. With your support, we are able to rescue animals from dog fighting, cockfighting, and puppy mills, work to end animal homelessness and farm animal cruelty, and provide medical care for countless pets in need. Please help us save even more animals and donate to this Team ASPCA campaign today.
