Team Joanie and The Flash
Hi friends! On November 4, I will be running in the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon, my first, to help raise money for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Here's why I've chosen to run for the ASPCA: First, of course, as many of you know, I really like cats. So does the ASPCA! They also love dogs and all other animals. For 150 years, the ASPCA has worked to reduce the number of homeless pets, prevent animal abuse, and otherwise make a positive impact in the lives of as many animals as they can. They are aggressive in taking on issues that include dog fighting, puppy mills, hoarding, and farm animal welfare, and their programs help care for and adopt out hundreds of thousands of homeless and abandoned pets a year. Both Joanie and The Flash (scroll through for photos!) came to us through homeless shelters after spending time on the mean streets of Brooklyn and Newburyport, respectively. They are mostly great company, weird and cute, and make us laugh every day. I have also spent years volunteering with our local cat rescue so I know both the impact the shelter system has and how very tight funds are. There are so many animals that don't get a shot at a second chance. I'm excited to run on behalf of those animals and hope you'll consider helping me reach my goal. Any amount is meaningful—$25 can transport an abandoned animal to safety; $50 can vaccinate 14 dogs and cats; $100 can provide 10 homeless pets with a microchip, collar, and ID tag. I am so grateful for your support. Thank you so much!
About the ASPCA: Fighting for animals is a 24/7 job, but your commitment makes it possible for our life-saving programs to create happy endings for those innocent lives touched by cruelty. Every single day of the year, we are rescuing animals from neglect and suffering. With your support, we are able to rescue animals from cruelty, work to end animal homelessness and provide medical care for countless pets in need. Please help us save even more animals and donate to this Team ASPCA campaign today. Interested in joining the team? Learn More »
