fotocasa turns 18 as a benchmark in the Internet real estate market

In  fotocasa  today we are celebrating as we reach the age of majority. And it is that this 2017 fotocasa turns 18 years since it was first launched as a specialized real estate channel within the Anuntis portal. This is a brief chronology of the most important moments that the real estate portal has experienced:

The Beginnings (1999)

In 1999 the Anuntis horizontal portal was born, which included different specialized channels in thematic areas such as real estate, motor and employment, among others. The origins of fotocasa are found in the specialized real estate channel created within the Anuntis portal. This channel was known as Anuntis Inmobiliario.

From channel to vertical portal (2001-2002)

Due to the needs of the market, Anuntis created from its Anuntis Inmobiliario channel, a vertical portal specialized in real estate under the name of Vivendum.com.

The appearance of other real estate portals (2003)

On the other hand, with the help of Trader lost items fire emblem , a company belonging to Trader Classified Media, another real estate portal was born under the brand fotocasa.es.

In a short time, fotocasa had the largest offer of housing on the internet, both new and second-hand for sale and rent throughout Spain and the audience data used allowed fotocasa to establish itself as the most visited real estate portal of Spain and the sixth at European level.

Multinational bet (2004-2006)

In 2004 the merger between Anuntis and Trader Classified Media occurs. The new technological platform that arises from the union of Vivendum.com and the fotocasa.es brand will give rise to the new real estate portal that will incorporate the contents, clients and experience of both companies, under the fotocasa.es brand.

In 2006 the Norwegian company Schibsted acquires 76% of the company. With these new partners, leaders in the classified ads market in the Nordic countries, synergies and related interests are recognized that support the evolution of the company.

Leadership consolidation (2006-2009)

In 2009 fotocasa.es established itself as the leader in its sector with a growth of 76% in the band of unique users and 58% in page views.

Multinational and technological company (2013)

In the summer of 2013, Schibsted acquired 100% of the Anuntis company and fotocasa became part of a large international multinational, adding all of Schibsted's knowledge and technology. It is clearly positioned as a technological benchmark within the real estate sector.

Proof of this is the company's clear commitment to mobile phones. In fact, in a short time the fotocasa application becomes one of the most downloaded and used of the real estate portals. In addition, in its desire to excel and innovate day by day, in 2015 fotocasa became the first real estate portal to have an application compatible with smartwach. The same year the first real estate application that has integrated chat to be able to speak directly with the owner of the apartment.
