Andrew's Bar Mitzvah Animal Project
Hello, My name is Andrew Rankin, my Bar Mitzvah is this January and a very important part of it is a community service project of my choice. For my project, I wanted to do something meaningful to me, so I picked to walk the dogs up for adoption at Doggie Style Pets in Narberth, Pa. Animals have always brought so much joy to me, especially dogs. My family has had dogs my entire life, they truly are like siblings to me, watching over me as a baby, entertaining me as a toddler, taking adventures with me as I have gotten older, and given me a break from much of the stress during this pandemic. Giving my time to walk and entertain these rescue pups is the least I can do to help such loving animals.
For about three weeks, I walked the rescue pups, with one of my parents, at Doggie Style Pets. We went for about a half-hour and walked them around the General Wayne neighborhood, talking to the pups, laughing, and letting them know how happy we were just being with them. It was so nice to be doing something to help that I really do love doing. I will continue to walk the rescue animals going forward because it is something that I care about. Doggie Style Pets is always in need of old blankets, towels, leashes, collars, bowls; if you happen to have any extras, we will have a box on our front porch throughout the month of January, you can drop them off & we will bring over to Doggie Style Pets.
Along with that, I want to raise money for pets in need; homeless, abused, abandoned, whatever the cause, I want to help make things better for these animals that only want to make people feel good. I looked into the ASPCA foundation and found it was perfect, their mission is all about animal welfare. I want to do the ASPCA because they are an organization that is focused on saving pets, something I believe in very much. Working with dogs specifically is important to me because not one day has gone by without my family having a dog and our dogs have helped me so much in becoming who I am so far and have brought me so much love and happiness.
The ASPCA foundation is a non-profit organization that encourages and helps to not only adopt pets but to also vaccinate, nuder, feed, rescue, and helps pets of all kinds in so many capacities. The ASPCA organization was founded on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, we are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. They are a privately funded not-for-profit corporation and are proud to boast more than 2 million supporters across the country. With all of the important work they do, money is something they always need. Please donate to my Fundraising Page: Andrew's Bar Mitzvah Pet Project.
It would mean a lot to me, and the animals, if you could donate to the ASPCA to help support such an important cause. You can go directly to their website using the following link:
Thank you for your support with the rescue animals, animals bring joy to so many people, it is important to me to bring joy back to those animals who need it too.
About the ASPCA: Fighting for animals is a 24/7 job, but your commitment makes it possible for our life-saving programs to create happy endings for those innocent lives touched by cruelty. Every single day of the year, we are rescuing animals from neglect and suffering. With your support, we are able to rescue animals from dog fighting, cockfighting, and puppy mills, work to end animal homelessness and farm animal cruelty, and provide medical care for countless pets in need. Please help us save even more animals and donate to this Team ASPCA campaign today.
