The Spot and Cody Memorial Campaign
Thank you for visiting my memorial page. Your donation will help the ASPCA provide life-saving programs and services to millions of animals nationwide. Please join me in celebrating their life and pay tribute by making a donation to give abused and homeless animals a second chance at life.
I am doing this in memory of two of the most amazing pets that Steve and I had the privilege of sharing our lives with.
Spot was my beautiful bunny. He was my best friend from the day I adopted him from the shelter. He had been physically abused and feared human hands. It took some time but with a ton of love he learned that not all humans hurt. Once we bonded we were a team until he passed. Believe it or not, he even slept with me each night and never once had an accident on the bed. He would hop off the bed, use his litter box, and hop back up and snuggle against my leg. I knew he was one of a kind when he first gently licked my tears away one day when I was crying. I'm talking about a bunny, that's pretty amazing. Spot developed a central nervous system disorder and I made sure that he had therapy until he told me it was time. The day that I knew it was time for him to pass, he licked my tears away for the last time.
Cody was Steve's most beloved dog and Spots good buddy. Spot just loved Cody and always wanted to play with her. Cody was found in a shopping mall parking lot in a box one winter night by Steve's mother, Beverly. She was just a puppy, cold and scared. Cody quickly became Steve's best friend and loving companion. Steve and Cody did everything together and loved each other very dearly. Unfortunately, Cody was diagnosed with cancer. But she wasn't ready to leave Steve yet and fought very hard through surgery and chemotherapy. The treatment gave Cody six more months with Steve, and those six months were a blessing to both of them. When Cody was ready she passed at home in Steve's arms.
It seemed to me that a wonderful way to honor their memory would be raising money to save other animals who need our help. They are all innocent and have done nothing to the humans who are abusing them. These animals depend on organizations like the ASPCA as their last hope. The goal I have set is not large, but it will help the ASPCA continue to do they're good work. Please think of an animal in your life who gave you unconditional love and then remember that every dollar counts. For all of the animals who have not found their forever home yet, I thank you.
About the ASPCA: Fighting for animals is a 24/7 job, but your commitment makes it possible for our life-saving programs to create happy endings for those innocent lives touched by cruelty. Every single day of the year, we are rescuing animals from neglect and suffering. With your support, we are able to rescue animals from dog fighting, cockfighting, and puppy mills, work to end animal homelessness and farm animal cruelty, and provide medical care for countless pets in need. Please help us save even more animals and donate to this Team ASPCA campaign today.
