Nick Marcus' Memorial Campaign
Thank you for visiting Nick Marcus' memorial page. Nick had a special place in his heart for animals, particulary animals in need of refuge and a second chance in life. A donation to the ASPCA in Nick's memory would help provide life-saving programs and services to millions of animals, and would be an especially fitting way to honor him. Thank you so much for all your kindness and support.
Nicholas Cameron Marcus, age 26, died on May 28, 2017 in a hospital in Los Angeles surrounded by loving family and friends, following his struggle with opioid addiction. Nick was much beloved by his parents Linda Marcus of Ashland and Donald Marcus of Ipswich, his older brother Alex Marcus of Seattle, Washington, his grandmothers Judith Marcus of Wellesley, and Fay Perry of Taunton, his aunts, uncles, cousins and his many friends, all of whom will miss him deeply and take comfort in the fact that he is at peace. After graduating from the Chapel Hill - Chauncey Hall School (2008) and Suffolk University with a degree in Communications (2012), Nick headed to Los Angeles to pursue his passion for music and warmer weather. Nick was imaginative, stylish, witty, observant, sentimental, charismatic, and a free spirit. He loved DJing, skateboarding, fingerboarding, cartoon art, fashion, drawing, making people laugh, being a contrarian, In-and-Out burgers, his cat Christopher, the unusual and the irreverent. A private celebration of Nick's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, in remembrance of Nick and his love of animals, his family asks that you consider donations in his name to the ASPCA.
But the wild things cried, "Oh please don't go—We'll eat you up—we love you so!" And Max said "No!”
― Maurice Sendak, Where the Wild Things Are
"If there ever comes a day we can't be together, keep me in your heart. I'll stay there forever."
-- Winnie the Pooh
About the ASPCA: Fighting for animals is a 24/7 job, but your commitment makes it possible for our life-saving programs to create happy endings for those innocent lives touched by cruelty. Every single day of the year, we are rescuing animals from neglect and suffering. With your support, we are able to rescue animals from dog fighting, cockfighting, and puppy mills, work to end animal homelessness and farm animal cruelty, and provide medical care for countless pets in need. Please help us save even more animals and donate to this Team ASPCA campaign today.
