NJM's TEAM ASPCA
DON'T STOP NOW, JUST DO IT, AND WE'VE BEEN DOING IT (RUNNING) EVER SINCE!
You may remember that in 2012 my sister Patti ran the Disney Princess Half Marathon in my honor and to raise monies for The Leukemia & Lyphoma Society (LLS). She did so to support LLS and--in her way, to give back to LLS for the exceptional emotional, informational and financial support LLS gave to me as I battled a blood-related cancer. In February the following year, side by side Patti and I ran the 2013 Disney Princess Half Marathon and since have run the '14, '15 and '16 races together. This year we've added another half-marathon and we've graduated from Princess to Wine & Dine! Here's why: In January, while we were training for February's half marathon, we heard the desperate cry of a hungry kitty under a bridge. Long story short, we pulled it from the muck along the waters and I carried the nearly hairless, declawed, and scrawny, 5-pound abandoned critter back to Patti's--the whole while wondering why and how someone could be so cruel to such a tiny, defenseless creature. We named her Hope, but despite our efforts and the Vet's, Hope eventually succumb to the torture to which she'd been subjected before being rescued. On November 5-6, 2016, we are adding a second half marathon to 2016! Despite knee surgery (expecting the wine will help), we are participating in the 2016 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, but I will be running as a member of Team ASPCA, a national fundraising and endurance training program. I am excited to be participating as a member of Team ASPCA and honored to be raising the awareness and the much needed funding to support the ASPCA's programs.Your donation will help the ASPCA provide life-saving programs and services to millions of animals nationwide. The ASPCA is very important to me and I appreciate your help as we fight to give abused and homeless animals a second chance at life. Please support me by making a donation and help me make a positive impact in the lives of animals! In advance and from the bottom of mine, my sister's and Hope's hearts, thank you!
About the ASPCA: Fighting for animals is a 24/7 job, but your commitment makes it possible for our life-saving programs to create happy endings for those innocent lives touched by cruelty. Every single day of the year, we are rescuing animals from neglect and suffering. With your support, we are able to rescue animals from dog fighting, cockfighting, and puppy mills, work to end animal homelessness and farm animal cruelty, and provide medical care for countless pets in need. Please help us save even more animals and donate to this Team ASPCA campaign today.
