Honoring Blade
Thank you for visiting Blade's Memorial page.
Blade was a most beloved cat. He was a true friend and is greatly missed.
He was healthy, happy and spoiled his whole life. But many animals are not so lucky.
Many are hungry, weak and left to the elements of the hottest or coldest temperatures. And many that have homes they are neglected or abused.
We may not be able to take in every animal and give them a place in our own homes with love and care but we can do the next best thing...by supporting ASPCA we can help get these animals off the streets, away from abuse and where they can be cared for and fed. We can be the hope they have to finding a loving family.
People often think humans are superior and at the top of the animal kingdom. In my opinion, if this is true then we should care for one another and all the creatures and the world around us. If mankind is a more superior species then we need to earn that place by showing kindness and responsibility for those that cannot be heard.
Blade was my loving and sweet boy. He was very spoiled, when I would come home he would immediately lead me to his treats and meow for them. He would sleep on my back at night. He would know when I was sick and would cuddle with me. He knew when I was sad or down, when I was grieving and would comfort me. He was the best friend I have ever had and I fell apart the night he died. I noticed the signs that he would be passing soon when I was about to go out to a Halloween party. I canceled my plans to comfort and hold him as he passed. I never will know if he knew I was there or if he understood that I was there for him or if it mattered. I hope he knew. I hope it did comfort him. Though it would never compare to all the love and comfort he had shown me over the years.
So in honor of his loyalty and friendship I would like to raise (at least) $1100.00 That would be $100 for each year of his life and friendship.
About the ASPCA: Fighting for animals is a 24/7 job, but your commitment makes it possible for our life-saving programs to create happy endings for those innocent lives touched by cruelty. Every single day of the year, we are rescuing animals from neglect and suffering. With your support, we are able to rescue animals from dog fighting, cockfighting, and puppy mills, work to end animal homelessness and farm animal cruelty, and provide medical care for countless pets in need. Please help us save even more animals and donate to this Team ASPCA campaign today.
