Gregory's 2015 Disneyland's Dumbo Double Dare Challenge
"To provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States"
-the mission of the ASPCA as spoken by it's founder Henry Bergh, in 1886.
On September fifth and sixth, I will be participating in the 2015 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend as a member of Team ASPCA. I will be running in the Dumbo Double Dare Challenge, which consists of a 10K race on Saturday followed by a half marathon on Sunday. I don't consider myself much of a runner, so pushing myself to complete 19.3 miles is a new experience I'm excited to take on.
Growing up, I was always surrounded by animals. Horses, sheep, dogs, cats, hamsters, and of course we always had a goldfish in the family. That is what I have always considered the animals in my life; family. Family is treated with respect, with understanding, with love. The ASPCA is very important to me because I know that not all animals are treated the way you and I would treat family.
Team ASPCA is a national fundraising and endurance-training program. The ASPCA's work can be broken down into four main programs: Anti-Cruelty Group, Animal Health Services, Community Outreach and Government relations. Your donation will help the ASPCA provide life-saving services to millions of animals nationwide. Please take at look at https://www.aspca.org/about-us/programs-and-services for a full in-depth breakdown of the work being done because of your generosity.
Please support me by making a donation and help make a positive impact in the lives of animals! Anything you can give will be very much appreciated and put to extremely good use. I have set my fundraising minimum at $1500 and have every intention of reaching and even surpassing that amount.
If you would like to get involved, why not research Team ASPCA and join in with their events. You can find all the information you'll need at http://www.teamaspca.org/
I need your help as we fight to give abused and homeless animals a second chance at life.
About the ASPCA: Fighting for animals is a 24/7 job, but your commitment makes it possible for our life-saving programs to create happy endings for those innocent lives touched by cruelty. Every single day of the year, we are rescuing animals from neglect and suffering. With your support, we are able to rescue animals from dog fighting, cockfighting, and puppy mills, work to end animal homelessness and farm animal cruelty, and provide medical care for countless pets in need. Please help us save even more animals and donate to this Team ASPCA campaign today.
