Angiesanimal fundraiser
Hello Austin and Tourists alike! The years keep going and the bats keep flying..over one million of them nightly from the Congress ave bridge. While the bats are visable, a smaller animal population under, around and near the bridge is not so visable! These animals are cats! Actually we are aware of at least 4 communities of these ferral cats within walking distance of the Batbridge! Our small group of volunteers feeds and waters these cats and rescue them (when we can cath them,)Many of you got to see our favorite, which we kept as our mascot,a beautifull siamese shelly, our best rescuer, named him Mr.Brown Socks!Shelly never gave up on caging this"wild thing "and finally did, on a bitterly cold night in november.Mr brown socks took to the love and attention of the nightly visiters petting him thru his poortable cage and finally tamed down enough for shelly to introduce him to her other cats in an apartment in south Austin where he now is" king of the house" shelly tells us!If you would like to hep save precious and abandoned, ferral cats suseptable to rabies, near the downtown Batbridge, please make a one time gift to ASPCA at our donation page,or better yet become a lifetime member at aspca.org! Happy batwatching and come find us in the orange aspca hats this season.See you soon! About the ASPCA: Fighting for animals is a 24/7 job, but your commitment makes it possible for our life-saving programs to create happy endings for those innocent lives touched by cruelty. Every single day of the year, we are rescuing animals from neglect and suffering. With your support, we are able to rescue animals from dog fighting, cockfighting, and puppy mills, work to end animal homelessness and farm animal cruelty, and provide medical care for countless pets in need. Please help us save even more animals and donate to this Team ASPCA campaign today.
