Tell Tyson: Protect Animals and Workers Now!

July 14, 2020: Thank you to the 40,000 supporters who took action on this petition—your voice is powerful! The results are being transferred to Tyson Foods. If you're interested in taking further action on this issue, you can contact your U.S. representative and urge them to cosponsor the Safe Line Speeds in COVID-19 Act.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created an urgent need to protect animals and workers. Tyson Foods, in particular, is actively endangering animals and workers in slaughterhouses and must reverse course to prevent further suffering.

Tyson has increased slaughter line speeds at six plants since the pandemic began. These extreme-speed systems increase the chances that animals will suffer stressful, inhumane deaths, and they create unsafe working conditions—especially now, as slaughterhouses have become virus hot spots. Thousands of Tyson workers have already tested positive for COVID-19, and across the country, over 100 slaughterhouse workers have died.

This is unacceptable. Animals and workers deserve better. Please speak up: Sign our petition urging Tyson to take key actions to protect animals from suffering and keep workers safe.
