Throw your hat into the ring with celebrities who have joined the ASPCA’s fight for love, like Eric McCormack, Patrick Wilson and Ashley Greene. The top winner—voted on by YOU—will receive a prize (details to come!) and be featured in a special spread on the ASPCA’s Instagram channel.

Photo entries will be accepted through February 24, and voting takes place on the ASPCA’s Instagram February 28. The winner will be announced on March 1.

Cutest Couples Contest
OFFICIAL RULES

The ASPCA invites pet lovers to enter the Cutest Couples Contest (the “Contest”) for a chance to win one of four (4) prizes, which are more fully described below.  By submitting an entry, you agree to abide by the following rules, terms and legal conditions (the “Rules”).  NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  MUST BE 18 OR OLDER TO ENTER*.  VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

Term

The Contest will take place for one (1) month from February 1 2019 at 12:00am ET to March 1 2019 11:59pm ET (the “Contest Period”).  Entries will be accepted during the Contest Period only.  Winners will be announced in real time during the Contest Period on Instagram. No entries will be accepted after the Contest Period.

Who May Enter

The Contest is limited to legal U. S. residents. Residents of Alabama, Iowa, Montana, New Mexico, South Carolina, Tennessee and Utah are expressly excluded from participating.

ASPCA employees and their families are not eligible to enter.  However, ASPCA volunteers and those who have adopted an animal from the ASPCA are eligible to enter.

What and How to Enter

To qualify for the contest, individuals must (1) “follow” the ASPCA on Instagram, (2) post a photo of their cutest couple (could be their 2 pets, or a photo of them and their pet), (3) tag the @ASPCA in the photo post, include the #CutestCouples hashtag in the text portion of the post, and (4) register with their full name, email address, and Instagram handle via the Cutest Couples Contest registration page on the ASPCA website.

Contestants must provide their name, address and email address for purposes of prize fulfillment.  Contestants shall have the option to be contacted by the ASPCA in the future for marketing purposes; however, receiving future contact from the ASPCA is not a condition to participation and choosing not to be contacted by the ASPCA in the future will not impact your odds of being selected as the winner of the Contest.

Judging and Prizes

The four (4) finalists will be determined by the ASPCA, and the one (1) grand prize winner will be determined by public vote through our Instagram Stories Poll feature.  All local, state and federal taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner(s).

All four (4) finalists will receive a prize, and one (1) of the finalists will receive a grand prize after the crowdsourced vote takes place.  Each prize will be valued in the range of $25-$50.

Winners will be announced on March 1 2019 via Instagram.  The winners will be informed via email on March 1 2019.  Each winner will have until March 8 2019 to respond and claim their prize.  They shall do so by responding via email. If winner does not claim his or her prize by the date referenced above, the winner shall forfeit his or her right to the prize.

Prizes will be shipped to winners by first class mail no later than March 31 2019.

Your Rights

Contestants shall retain all rights in the content of their entry submission; however, by submitting your text for this Contest, you grant the ASPCA a world-wide, irrevocable, perpetual, unrestricted royalty-free right to use your name/text for any purposes to promote the ASPCA’s mission of providing effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.

In addition, if selected as the winner, you agree to grant the ASPCA a world-wide, irrevocable, perpetual, unrestricted royalty-free right to use your submission on the ASPCA’s website, social media platform(s) and other marketing materials as determined by the ASPCA in its sole and absolute discretion.

Do the Right Thing!

Contestants participating in the Contest must, at all times, act in the best interests of the welfare of the animals in their care and with utmost integrity and sportsmanship in participation.  Any Contestant deemed by the ASPCA, in its sole and absolute discretion, to be jeopardizing the welfare of animals or otherwise acting in a manner which is not representative of fair and honest participation, will be immediately disqualified from participation in the Contest and will no longer be eligible to receive a prize.  Any decision made by the ASPCA regarding disqualification of a Contestant will be final and binding and will not be subject to appeal or protest. The ASPCA may or may not notify a disqualified Contestant of his/her removal from the Contest, however, failure to so notify shall not create any right of appeal of the ASPCA’s decision for any such disqualified Contestant.

Miscellaneous

By entering the Contest, you are confirming that you are at least 18 years of age and the sole owner of all information submitted to the ASPCA (or you have received permission from the owner to submit on his /her behalf).  By entering the Contest, you are also completely releasing Instagram from any and all liability associated with any claims arising from or relating to the Contest.

By submitting an entry, no expectation is created that you will be awarded a prize.  Prize(s) will be awarded by the ASPCA in accordance with the Rules set forth herein and applicable state and federal laws.

Entries are subject to the ASPCA’s Privacy Policy located at: http://www.aspca.org/about-us/legal-information/privacy-policy.html.

This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Contestants shall have no right of approval, no claim for compensation, and no claim (including without limitation, claims based on invasion of privacy, defamation or right of publicity) arising out of any use by the ASPCA of their name, likeness or materials.  Each Contestant releases and holds the ASPCA and its directors, officers, employees, representatives, and/or agents harmless from and against any claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Contest.

The ASPCA is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by technical or human error, which may occur in the processing of data in this Contest or in the running of this Contest. 

The ASPCA is not responsible for, and expressly disclaims any liability arising from: (i) the use of information by third parties, or from any error, defect, omission, theft, destruction or alteration of, or unauthorized access to, Contest entries; (ii) any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, or unauthorized access to the Contest website; (iii) technical, network, electronic, computer, hardware or software failures of any kind; and/or (iv) injury or damage to any Contestant or to any other person, or to any Contestant’s (or other person’s) computer, other equipment, relating to or resulting from participation in the Contest, or from downloading materials or accessing the Contest.

If, for any reason, the ASPCA determines that the Contest is not capable of continuing as planned, ASPCA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest.

The construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these rules, and all issues and questions relating thereto, shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without giving effect to its conflict of law rules.  In the event that any provision of these rules is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, such determination shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision, and these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein.

The Contest is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with Instagram or any other social media utilized during the Contest.  All contestants and participants completely release Instagram from any and all liability associated with the Contest and shall have no legal recourse against Instagram for any claims arising from or otherwise relating to the Contest.

*All state laws must be complied with for purposes of recognizing the age of majority for participation in contests. No one under the age of 18 shall be allowed to enter. Please consult your individual state laws for additional guidance.
