Dear Representative,
As your constituent, I want to thank you for supporting the bipartisan PETSAFE Act (H.R. 7438), which would strengthen disaster preparedness for pets and ensure that communities have the necessary tools to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters and emergencies.
Pets are part of the family and people will refuse to evacuate during an emergency if they cannot bring their beloved companion. This leads to the loss of animal and human life.
The PETSAFE Act is critical legislation that would assist state and local governments with funding pet-related disaster preparedness, such as purchasing equipment, acquiring veterinary supplies and training first responders. These resources will help communities protect animals, families and first responders.
