Thank You for Leading the PAST Act to Protect Horses from Soring!
Dear Representative,
As your constituent and a supporter of equine welfare, I want to thank you for leading the Prevent All Soring Tactics (PAST) Act (H.R. 1684), which would amend the Horse Protection Act to further protect horses from soring by permanently eliminating the industry’s current self-policing practices, prohibiting the use of action devices and increasing the penalties for soring. Animal protection is a priority for me, and I appreciate you taking a stand on such an important issue. Let’s end this cruelty once and for all.
Thanks for Being an Original CS of the PAST Act to Stop Horse Soring
Dear Representative,
As your constituent and a supporter of equine welfare, I want to thank you for being an original cosponsor of the Prevent All Soring Tactics (PAST) Act (H.R.
Please Cosponsor the Prevent All Soring Tactics (PAST) Act
Dear Representative,
As your constituent and a supporter of equine welfare, I am writing to ask that you support and cosponsor the Prevent All Soring Tactics (PAST) Act (H.R. 1684), which would amend the Horse Protection Act to further protect horses from soring by permanently eliminating the industry’s current self-policing practices, prohibiting the use of action devices and increasing the penalties for soring. For too long, our nation’s horses have been subjected to the horrific practice of “soring” — intentionally inflicting pain and injury to a horse’s legs to force them into a high-stepping gait. As you may know, this bill has twice passed the U.S. House by a wide margin: in 2019 and in 2022, 333 members and 304 members, respectively, voted in support of this bill. Please lend your support to this bill to bring us one step closer to ending this cruel practice for good.
Thank you for your consideration.
