Please Vote NO on S.B. 113!

Dear Senator,
As your constituent, I am writing to ask you to oppose S.B. 113, legislation that would prioritize the interests of big agribusiness over the health and welfare of Utah’s communities. S.B. 113 would strip Utah’s local governments of their ability to regulate animal enterprises, including industrial livestock operations, and preempt local laws enacted by our communities to keep animals and people safe. The Legislature should not protect the bank accounts of animal enterprise operations over the wellbeing and health of local communities. As your constituent, I urge you to please protect Utah’s communities over corporate interests by voting NO on S.B. 113. Thank you for your time and consideration of my position.

Please Veto H.B. 114!

Dear Governor Cox,
As your constituent, I am writing to ask you to veto H.B. 114. This bill, which is likely unconstitutional, will criminalize good Samaritans who rescue injured livestock so that they may receive medical attention. Our state should be investing in farming practices that will help transition farmers out of the cruel and inhumane factory farming system rather than criminalizing those trying to ensure a basic level of care for sick or dying animals. As your constituent, I urge you to please protect farm animals over corporate interests by vetoing H.B. 114. Thank you for your time and consideration of my position.
