Thank You for Cosponsoring the Welfare of Our Friends (WOOF!) Act

Dear Representative,
As your constituent and a supporter of the ASPCA, I am writing you to thank you for cosponsoring the Welfare of Our Friends (WOOF!) Act, important legislation that will hold the puppy mill industry more accountable. Dogs in federally licensed facilities often spend their entire lives in filthy, crowded cages stacked on top of one another with no access to adequate veterinary care or regular exercise. Keeping problematic dealers shut down is one huge piece of the puzzle in fighting the cruel commercial puppy-breeding industry. Animal protection is very important to me and I appreciate your leadership and attention to this important issue.

Please Cosponsor the Welfare of Our Friends (WOOF!) Act

Dear Representative,
As your constituent and a supporter of the ASPCA, I am writing you to ask you to please cosponsor the Welfare of Our Friends (WOOF!) Act, H.R. 1002, bipartisan legislation introduced by Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Charlie Crist (D-FL), Glenn “G.T.” Thompson (R-PA), and Jim McGovern (D-MA) to hold problematic commercial dog dealers accountable. The WOOF Act would enhance enforcement of the Animal Welfare Act to prevent a dog breeder whose USDA license has been suspended or revoked to continue to operate using the name of a family member or other member of the household. Right now, it is possible for suspended or revoked breeders to have family members apply for a new license, allowing the same business to continue as usual – terrible conditions and all. Animal protection is very important to me and I urge you to support and cosponsor the WOOF Act. Thank you for your attention to this important issue.
