Bring the whole family out – including Fido – to watch the first NYC Paws Parade. The parade honors the history of animal protection and celebrates the efforts of local groups dedicated to protecting some of our city’s most vulnerable residents.
Begins at Madison Square Park on 26th & 5th and winds down Broadway to Union Square
11 A.M. - Noon
Parade will feature NYPD mounted & canine units, ASPCA, Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, Animal Care Centers of NYC, shelters and rescue groups, veterinarians, giveaways and, of course, lots of dogs! Bernadette Peters will serve as our Grand Marshal.
In partnership with the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, the ASPCA will hold two large adoption events in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Hundreds of dogs, cats and rabbits will be available, and adoption fees will be covered by Animal Planet, the ASPCA’s generous partner. More info can be found at ASPCA.org/Adoptapalooza.
