The ASPCA’s disaster response team has deployed to Montecito, California, after fatal mudslides claimed lives and impacted thousands of residents and their pets.
The mudslides have taken the lives of at least 20 people and forced thousands more to evacuate their homes. The disaster and evacuations left many pets in danger. We’re on the ground helping to conduct animal search-and-rescue operations and respond to calls from displaced residents whose pets need immediate care.
We will remain on the ground, assisting Santa Barbara County Animal Services for as long as we’re needed. These efforts, like all our work on behalf of homeless animals and displaced pets and their families, depends on generous member support. Please become an ASPCA Guardian and help us protect, rescue and care for animals facing the most desperate circumstances.
