45 Suspected Dogfighting Victims Rescued

The ASPCA deployed to the scene of a suspected dogfighting case at the request of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. We are assisting with evidence collection and the removal of nearly 50 dogs and puppies from deplorable conditions. We saw some dogs tethered with heavy, metal chains, lacking adequate water and shelter. Many showed wounds and scars consistent with dogfighting. The suspect has been arrested, and the ASPCA is transporting these innocent animals to our emergency shelter for care. We will continue to work with law enforcement and prosecutors to ensure the best outcome for these animals.
