Exciting news: A federal bill has been introduced to address the safety of pets during emergencies and extreme weather events!

The Providing Essential Temporary Shelter Assistance for Emergencies (PETSAFE) Act would create a pilot grant program for mobile pet shelters during emergencies and major disasters. These grants would be used by state, local and tribal governments to provide immediate and temporary shelter to household pets when the U.S. government orders evacuations. PETSAFE grants would also fund the transport of pets to safety and the reunification of pets with their owners after danger subsides.
